Prme Minister Narendra Modi today offered his prayers to the Goddess Durga on the first day of he 7-day Navratri festival.

Prime Minister posted his picture on Twitter and wrote:

Navratri greetings to everyone. The coming days are about devoting ourselves to the worship of Jagat Janani Maa. May Navratri be the bringer of strength, good health and prosperity in everyone’s lives.

Navratri is celebrated all over India during which the Hindus worship the female form of divinity in its different manifestations on all the seven day.

The festival has different cultural forms like Dandiya in Gujarat and Durga Puja in West Bengal and part of Eastern India.

Due to Covid-19 curbs, the festival is not being celebrated with usual gaiety this year.
