Mehvish from Kashmir wins innovation award

New Delhi

Mahvish Riyaz, a Kashmiri student of class 10th from village Akhara of Kulgam in south Kashmir, has received an award for innovation at the National Science Exhibition help recently.

A student of the local government school, Mehvish’s success has brought cheers to the school and the teachers and parents are celebrating it.

Mehwish and her father Riyaz Ahmed gave all credit to the school teachers for her success. Her father said, “My daughter and two other children were studying in private school. I shifted them to this school because of its reputation.”

An emotional father said “this is the best school in the area.”

Mahvish’s model on bottle opener for chemicals and her model won her the 'Inspire-Manak' National Award.

Mahvish’s Invented a lid opener for chemical bottles is useful and can solve problems of dealing with chemicals be it in a laboratory or in industry.

Her model was presented to and adjudged by various scientific innovation organizations at the exhibition.

Mehvish dedicated her award to her parents and teachers. Mahvish said she had been guided by her teachers. Teachers say these days the government schools have better systems and facilities in Kashmir.

Teacher Irshad Ahmed says that he wants to guide other students in the same way.

Meanwhile, Mehvish's father Riyaz Ahmed credited the success of the award to the teachers. He praised the teachers of the school who became emotional. However, it is a welcome thing to receive the award of successful and talented girl students like Mahvish from government schools. The talents of these children need to be further developed. This was said by the teachers of the school.
