Farid of Sabri brothers is no more

Singer Farid Sabri, whose superhit Bollywood numbers like 'Han eek sanam chahiye..’ in movie Tum bin and  ‘deir na ho jaye kahin’ in movie 'Hina' continue to be loved by music lovers across the world, died after a brief illness here last night.

Known for his distinct style of singing ‘Qawwali’ he was part of the musicians' clan called the Sabri brothers.

He was admitted to the local hospital with pneumonia (lung infection) where he passed away during the treatment.

His mortal remains were buried in the Miskin Shah Cemetery in Ghatgate, Jaipur.

Sabri Brother comprised Farid Sabri, his brother Amin Sabri and their father Saeed Sabri. They were among the topmost qawwali exponents of India and had performed all over the world.

Farid Sabri lived with his family in ​Jaipur.

In the iconic Bollywood song from Hina, Farid Sabr rendered a soulful performance along with his father Saeed Sabri and Lata Mangeshkar.

 Doctors at the hospital said Farid Sabri's kidneys and lungs were greatly affected mainly because of his diabetes.

His body was brought to their ancestral residence Mathura in Jaipur.
