Delhi’s battle with Covid continues as relatives of patients run from pillar to post to procure oxygen cylinders as the life saving gas is in short supply.

Others are desperately trying for get their seriously sick family members admitted into the hospitals and makeshift Covid centers that are  being opened across the national capital to cope with rising cases of the viral disease.

Wednesday late night, Delhi's monuments were glowing in the street lights and yet seemed to be covered in the grim stillness of the curfew imposed across the city to bring down the surging wave of Covid.

New Covid isolation centre opened at the sprawling Yamuna Vihar Sports complex in Yamuna Vihar, East Delhi, late night. The makeshift hospital was thrown open and immeditely 25 patients – majority of whom were women – got themselves admitted.

Patients and relatives eagerly awaiting outside the Yumana Sports Complex for it to open for admissions.

As soon as the policemen opened the gate, the mob outside rushed in as the public had waited desperately and for long.

Imran at Shaheen Bagh was flooded with calls and customers coming to his oxygen refilling outlet. He told them to check their mobiles around 11 pm as he is expecting the second truckload of the gas to be delivered to him by that time.He told Awaz-the voice that unlike many vendors he doesnt charge a single extra penny from the cvustomers. He had already received one truckload in the monrning.
