According to the latest data, about 6 crore people in India are suffering from diabetes, while a large number of people who are on the verge of diabetes.

A free diabetes check-up and awareness camp was organized in Batla House area of ​​Jamia Nagar on behalf of Awaaz-e-Khwateen, a Delhi-based NGO working for women.

In the camp organized especially for women, more than 200 people got free check-up of sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and creatinine.

The camp was organized in collaboration with National Diabetes, Obesity and Cholesterol Foundation (NDOC) and Fortis C Doc.

Diabetes was confirmed in 28 people in the camp, their sugar level was found to be more than 300.

The biggest thing is that they didn't even know about it. Early signs of diabetes were found in about 47 people, but their sugar was not under control.

The patients in the camp were examined by Dr. Vimal Gupta, Senior Diabetes Specialist, Fortis C Doc. About 75 percent of the patients in the camp did not have adequate knowledge about diabetes. For that the counselor told the patients. In the camp, patients were given sugar check-up, foot examination, diet counseling.

Dr. Gupta told that there is still a need for more awareness about diabetes, because diabetes is such a disease, which can happen to a person of all ages. Therefore, along with our daily routine, we should give constant priority to exercise.

Experts suggested easy solutions

Dr. Vimal Gupta said that diabetes is a rapidly spreading disease, which is more in the lower and middle class people. This disease can be avoided by control of diet, regular exercise and regular health check-up.

On the occasion, Diabetes Educator Anjaneul advised the people to improve the standard of living and food in modern lifestyle. He said that in type 1 diabetes, the patient is advised to take insulin, because the pancreas is unable to make insulin in it. Sugar level can be corrected with medicine in type 2 patients.

Weight loss is one of the best ways to control diabetes. Cycling can be the best exercise to lose weight. Cycling can be considered the best way to reduce blood sugar level along with weight.

One of the easiest ways to stay fit is by walking. Taking a short walk every morning and evening in the park or on the terrace of the house can help in managing the complications of diabetes. Walking daily keeps weight under control and can also help in keeping heart and bone problems away. Make it a routine to walk for 30 minutes daily, it can be beneficial for the body in many other ways along with reducing the blood sugar level.
