Samajwadi party leader and Member of Parliament Azam Khan has been shifted to Intensive care unit of a private hospital in Lucknow on Monday in view of his worsening health condition.

Khan and his son Abdullah Azam had been shifted from Sitapur Jail on Sunday as both were diagnosed as having contracted Covid-19 infection.

Both of them have been lodged in jail pending investigations into about 100 criminal cases filed by the UP government against them.  In fact Khan’s wife who was also in the jail was recently released as the Court granted her bail.

Azam Khan has been breathing through an oxygen cylinder in the ICU where he was shifted due to difficulty in breathing on Monday.

Abdullah Azam ‘s condition is stable, as per the doctors of Medanta hospital.
