The two troopers belonged to Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu and were at a camp in West Bengal's Kakmari of the 117 Battalion (Bn) on Monday. They were taken to the nearest Sagarpara hospital, where they were declared 'brought dead'.

According to BSF, the two men got into a scuffle after they received a summons from the local police. "Both the personnel were to visit PS Raninagar to depose statement in connection with Raninagar PS Case No 496/21 dated November 29, 2021", said the BSF.
