Jamiat Ulema, Lucknow, is planning to launch a major campaign to promote brotherhood and Ganga-Jamuni culture, an euphemism for inclusiveness across the state of Uttar Pradesh. This is aimed at restoring the confidence of common people in the government and judiciary of Uttar Pradesh.

The campaign has been coined by Dr. Salman Khalid, a well known doctor who is also the acting president of Jamiat Ulema Lucknow.

Jamiat Ulema, Lucknow, under the leadership of Syed Mohammad Wazin has been similar efforts for a long time with the purpose of engendering an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood. The fresh campaign is meant to expand its work beyond the city.

Dr. Salman Khalid, who is associated with various movements for social reform and national welfare, says that negative politics has not only affected the welfare of the country it has also harmed the democratic values, traditional inclusive living of the people of all religions. Salman Khalid said at times, it appears that the space for the minorities in the country is shrinking and it’s making people to worry.

Looking at the history, he said there have been many such turning points when the communal forces seemed to have won by hatching conspiracies to break the fabric of this country and make people fight among themselves.

However, each time these elements are rebuffed by the common people. The positive side of all these situations is that the environment has never remained conducive for the fanatics and evil elements to operate for a longer period.

Salman Khalid said he is therefore confident that India will run on love and brotherhood and not by hatred and prejudice.

Dr. Salman Khalid says that the environment is not conducive. The morale of the evil elements is high, but we have also taken a vow that the conspiracy of a handful of people will not allow the centuries-old common civilization of the country to disintegrate. To create awareness in this regard, a public awareness campaign will be conducted in every district of Uttar Pradesh.

To achieve the desired goal, training and awareness camps will be organized and various programs will also be organized.
