JUH sets relief camps in flood-hit Maharashtra

New Delhi

Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind (JUH) has set up several relief camps in the flood affected coastal region of Maharashtra especially in the MHADA and Chiplun areas. One of the medical camps has been set up in the Mahakali temple in Chiplun.

JUH President Arshad Madani said, “Relief work, including organizing medical camps, is being carried out by the Maharashtra unit of JUH in these areas.”

The locals are flocking to the Mahakali temple in Chiplun to seek treatment. "The JUH said that since auto rickshaws and small vehicles are not working due to the floods, various teams of motor mechanics have been sent across to several areas.

A number of motorbikes, rickshaws and other small and heavy vehicles from the affected areas have been sent for repairs.

More teams of motor mechanics and electricians from different units of JUH are reaching different areas of the flood-affected Konkan region from different parts of Maharashtra.

JUH said that biscuits, water bottles and other essential items are being distributed among the victims in the flood-affected areas.

Madani has directed all the officers and employees of JUH to undertake relief and rehabilitation work on humanitarian grounds.
