In the Covid-19 pandemic, one has come across thousands of workers who have been a great support system for the patients and their families in such hard times. Now in Kashmir is a patient who has also joined the army of selfless workers to ease the pain of those suffering from the viral infection.

This 48-year-old Kashmiri is Manzoor Ahmed, a resident of Srinagar. Due to asthma, he is dependent on Oxygen and yet drives the truck carrying oxygen for the Covid-19 affected people.

Manzoor Ahmed has been carrying his personal oxygen cylinder with him for the past 3 years. Despite this, he is still delivering oxygen to others.

Manzoor Ahmed drives a small truck and is engaged in the delivery of oxygen cylinders to the needy Covid-19 patients. “I exactly know the pain of the people who don't have access to oxygen when they need it," he said.

Truck driver Manzoor Ahmed says that when he is able to save a life or give relief to a patient by timely delivery of the Covid-19, he feels happy. “I have asthma myself, and I know how oxygen helps those who are in need. It also saves people's lives and helps me to provide for my family. This is humanity. I can't beg, I won't do it, God has given me His hand and I can use these.”

"I can't stay at home, I work and earn for my family," Manzoor said. “They depend on me.”

Manzoor says he wants the Covid-19 survivors to do something for others. Manzoor carries an oxygen cylinder with him and uses it all the time.

He knows the Covid patients’ lungs are weakened by the attack of the virus and therefore, if he doesn’t deliver oxygen in time, they are at the risk f catching infections.” He says he doesn’t want people to lose hope," Manzoor said. Everyone must remain strong and fight the disease.”.
