New Delhi
The Lok Sabha secretariat has issued an advisory to MPs asking them to refrain from distributing pamphlets, press notes and leaflets without the Speaker’s permission in the House during the Monsoon session of Parliament.
This comes after the opposition's uproar on the ban on protests in the Parliament premises.
The advisory was issued on Thursday by the Parliament Security Office.
However, the Speaker’s office clarified that similar advisories had been issued in the past also.
The opposition parties have taken strong objection to the advisory as it comes on the heels of controversy over the use of unparliamentary words during the House proceedings.
