New Delhi

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and late Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat are among five dignitaries who have been selected for the Uttarakhand Guru Suman for the year 2022.

The others whose names have been selected for the prestigious award include Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification Prasoon Joshi,  scriptwriter Girish Chandra Tiwari 'Garda', and poet Viren Dangwal, poet.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced these awards through a social media post on Twitter. He expressed his gratitude to these great sons of Uttarakhand, Devbhoomi, on behalf of the people of the state and praised their contribution to nation-building.

The Uttarakhand Guru Samman and Uttarakhand Ratan are the highest civilian awards of the State.

The Uttrakhand Guru Samman is awarded to an individual for his exceptional contribution to any field of human endeavour. It was established in 2021 by the government of Pushkar Singh Dhami on 9 November 2021 on the occasion of the state's 21st birthday
