Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Tuesday said the Indian Navy’s aggressive deployment during Operation Sindoor in May forced the Pakistan Navy to stay close to its ports, adding that the operation “remains in progress”.
Addressing his annual press conference, Admiral Tripathi said the Navy maintained high operational readiness over the last seven to eight months in the Western Arabian Sea following hostilities with Pakistan.
“The aggressive posturing and immediate action during Operation Sindoor, including deployment of the Carrier Battle Group, forced Pakistan Navy to remain close to their ports or the Makran coast,” he said.

He added that the operation has had economic consequences for Pakistan, as several merchant vessels avoided travelling to the country in the aftermath of the crisis, pushing up insurance costs for ships headed there.
