Terrorists killed a young Municipal Councilor of the BJP who was among a few Kashmiri Hindus who had returned to their native place and participated in grass root elections.

Identified as Rakesh Pandita, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district of South Kashmir, he had apparently gone to visit a friend  in Tral without his security staff. On reaching there he was fired upon and died on the spot late Wednesday night.

"Peoples’ anti Fascist Front," apparently a front for the pro-Pakistan terrorist outfits, issued a statement claiming its terrorists had killed Pandita.

Another Frontal organisation that claimed the responsibility for the murder is "The Resistance Front." In a statement circulated online to some Srinagar-based journalists, it said “Lone wolf strikes again. The stooges and collaborators are already on the list of countdown board. Stooges and collaborators have to fall.”

It seems Pandita had been provided a safe accommodation in a hotel in Srinagar and also PSO for his personal safety. He however had gone to Tral alone to meet his friend, presuming his late night movement will not be noticed.

He is the second Hindu councilor to be murdered by terrorists. Earlier Ajay Pandita, fell victims to the terrorists. Terrorists have been targetting the BJP workers.

BJP state chief Ravinder Kumar blamed the Pakistani terrorists for the killing and said they will be soon eliminated.
