As part of its outreach to Muslims of India, the Rashtriya Swayem Sevak Sangh (RSS) has held a brainstorming session with prominent Muslim intellectuals in Goa where leaders held brainstorming session on issues that create misunderstanding and differences between the Hindus and Muslims.

Under the aegis of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, where unnamed Muslim interlocutors including Ulemas and intellectuals of the community were present, senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar addressed those present and both sides held a no-holds-barred discussion on mutual issues.

Giving details of the meeting, Shahid Saeed, national media in charge of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, said that the meeting was historic in the senses that it ended with a “historic consensus” between the Sangh and the Muslim interlocutors on important issues, and their mutual fears and doubts were removed.

Saeed said that Ulemas and Muslim intellectuals listened to Indresh Kumar, the chief patron of the Rashtriya Muslim Front, “with great attention and unanimously assured that there is no confusion.”

A handout of the MRM said, “On Wednesday, a new article was written in Goa, in which the Muslim Ulemas and intellectuals of the state while praising the excellent work of the Narendra Modi government, announced to launch a new movement for the BJP.”

The meeting concluded that the campaign of MRM and the speeches, behaviuor, and attitudes of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat have destroyed the work done by political parties against RSS and BJP.

The Ulema present in the brainstorming session said: “We now realize that we had been intimidated for years in the name of RSS and BJP.”

The meeting discussed contentious issues from the perspective of Hindus like "the contents of Quran, Hadith, and Prophet Mohammad’s instructions on love for one’s motherland."

Indresh Kumar said that the “Almighty has created the identity of a person either based on his character or by the country. If a person’s character is good then he is good, and if the character is bad then he is bad.”

He said that Islam says that heaven lay under the feet of one’s mother and one has to love his country and therefore “there is no contradiction between a Muslim’s love for his religion and his motherland.”

Indresh Kumar said: “We have been Hindustanis of Hindustan, Indians of India since ages.. and we have to live like this. It means the nation first, nation last, and nation in between. He said that the mother brings us to this world and the motherland (soil in which Muslims are buried and Hindus’ ashes are spread) takes us away from this world to the Almighty.”

He said that Mother India was, is, and will remain a common property of all of us. “Those who have tried to break the motherland have betrayed, shown dishonesty, and cheated the Almighty, the country, and humanity.”

Indresh Kumar further said: “Let's end the hatred for the sake of our common heritage and country, end the riots and build India together.”

According to Saeed, Ulema, Maulanas, and intellectuals said in one voice said it turned out to be an important session. They praised Indresh Kumar and said, “all their fears and apprehensions turned out ties and they are no longer intimidated by the present government.”

The team of Muslims expressed their views in one opinion and said that we have found the vision of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Indresh Kumar, RSS, and Mohan Bhagwat as love, trust, affinity, and honesty for us.

The Ulemas said that the truth is that all the schemes run by the government have benefited everyone. There was no discrimination against anyone in the name of caste, religion, or party.

Those present at the meeting said in the parties the political parties they trusted have committed treachery and dishonesty.

The Ulemas and intellectuals said that "we, Muslims should go ahead and run a historical campaign of trusting the BJP and this government." 

The intellectuals said that all the schemes run by the government have benefited every section of society, every section, and every religion. "Looking at the works of the government in the last eight years, it can be said with full truth and honesty that the aim of this government is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas. And this is not just a slogan, but a reality," the handout quoted Muslim leaders.

The Goa meeting was attended by many dignitaries including Maulana Hasabuddin, Maulana Ali Murtaza, Mohd Mahmood Alam, Ghulam Nabi, Mohd Faiz, Goa BJP Minority Morcha Vice President Sameer Sheikh.
