Supreme Court of India has refuses to stay the Maharashtra Assembly floor test, scheduled for Thursday.

The floor test will now take place as planned, Thursday, at 11am.

This is a major setback to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray camp of Shiv Sena and a sort of victory for the rebels led by Eknath Shinde who have since moved to Goa from Guwahati.

The Supreme Court’s order comes on a plea filed by Shiv Sena chief whip Sunil Prabhu challenging Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's direction to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to prove his majority support on the floor of the House on June 30.

The Bench says “we are ordering notice on the petitions and that tomorrows floor test proceedings will be subject to the final outcome of the writ petition.” Supreme Court issues notice on Shiv Sena Chief Whip Sunil Prabhu's plea and said that tomorrow's floor test will be subject to the outcome of the present petition.

The case will come up for hearing in the Court on July 11th.

Supreme Court ordered floor test to continue as instructed by Maharashtra Governor and it’s a setback to Chief minister Udhav Thackrey‘s camp  Thackeray had broken pre-poll alliance with the BJP to form the government with MVA with Cong & NCP.

He had approached the apex Court against Governor’s order of floor test to check claims of both the warring groups of the Shiv Sena of majority support.
