The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Delhi will begin on June 30, with booth-level officers (BLOs) conducting door-to-door verification of voters, according to Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Kumar.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Kumar said preparations for the exercise, including training of BLOs and printing of enumeration forms, will take place between June 20 and June 29.

He said the revision process would be carried out in a transparent manner with multiple checks and balances in place. Political parties will also be involved through booth-level agents (BLAs), while all related information will be made available on the CEO office website.

As part of the exercise, awareness campaigns and special camps will be organised to assist voters in filling and submitting enumeration forms.

Under the SIR process, each voter will receive two copies of the enumeration form. One copy will have to be filled and returned to the BLO, while voters will also have the option to submit the completed forms online.

The exercise will cover all eligible voters aged 18 years and above as of October 1, the qualifying date.

According to the CEO’s office, more than 13,000 BLOs will participate in the house-to-house verification drive. Every existing voter whose name already appears in the electoral roll will be provided the forms during the visits.
