Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Indian startups were today providing solutions to many problems of the world. He revealed there are over 70 startups that have crossed the valuation of more than 1 billion. “This has resulted in many Indians providing solutions to global problems.” Prime Minister was addressing the citizens through the 83rd episode of his Mann Ki Baat radio program that is broadcast on the last Sunday of each month.

In the address, he also praised the people of Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh for helping themselves and reviving a local river that was on the brink of extinction.

Terming this as an example of ‘sabka saath sabka vikas,’ Modi said, “The river had come to the brink of extinction and this created a crisis for farmers in the area. “The people of Jalaun this year formed a committee and revived the river.."

he also praised the armed forces for their sacrifices and valour. Modi said, "The country celebrates Navy Day and Armed Forces Flag Day in December. We all know that on December 16, the country is celebrating the golden jubilee year of the 1971 war."

“On this occasion, I want to remember our armed forces, our soldiers. Especially, the brave mothers who gave birth to these heroes."

Modi also spoke about the significance of places like Jhansi and Bundelkhand in India's freedom struggle.

"Heroes like Rani Laxmibai and Jhalkari Bai belong from here. These regions have also gifted us Khel Ratna like Major Dhyan Chand," he said.
