Tremors in Gulmarg; cold wave grips Kashmir

An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Gulmarg of Jammu and Kashmir Monday morning.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, Delhi, "Earthquake of Magnitude 3.5, Occurred on February 8, 04:56 am, Lat: 34.22 & Long: 73.61, Depth: 30 Km, Location: 73km WNW of Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir.,"

No loss of life and property has been reported so far. 

Also Kashmir Valley continues to be in the intense cold wave as the minimum temperature in Srinagar city again dropped below the freezing point Sunday-Monday night.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature had risen to 10 degrees Celsius, after 40 days.

Leh town of Ladakh had minus 11.8, Kargil minus 15.1 and Drass minus 22.8 as the night's lowest temperature.
