Call it the magic of social media or the impact of a tough and no-nonsense chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath, the Uttar Pradesh Police is trying to rework its image in the eyes of the common man and to be known as a people-friendly force.

A recent instance of Uttar Pradesh Police being seen helping a citizen has come from the Kaushambhi area and has been posted on social media. It’s earning police accolades and praise from netizens.

The video relates to an incident in Manjhapur, Kaushambhi on the occasion of Jamul-ul Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan. A wheelchair-bound Muslim elderly man was on his way to the mosque for Friday congregational prayers.

As the street was littered with building material and its portions were dugout, he could not push his wheelchair and got stranded. As such the temperature was as high as 46 degrees celsius

The policemen deployed around the area noticed the person and realized his plight.

SHO Vinod Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Bhavani Singh came forward to help the elderly person. Both of them lifted him in the wheelchair and dropped him close to the mosque from where he could easily move in the wheelchair.

The video of the incident has been posted by a journalist Kavish Aziz, whose timeline also shows many posts that are critical of the Police behaviour in the past.

Kavish calls the video as best video on the internet.

The video is being liked and shared by netizens. People are making positive comments about the UP Police and praising the policemen for their deeds.
