A group of 30 Afghan Sikhs including men, women, and children is on their way to Delhi from Kabul on Wednesday. They are leaving their homeland given the increasing religious persecution in the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan
 
Indian World Forum President Puneet Singh Chandok said that there are still 110 Sikhs left in Afghanistan, while 61 e-visa applications are pending with the Government of India. Earlier 32 Afghan Sikhs were evacuated from Kabul.

Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, the biggest representative body of Sikhs, has borne the airfare of the Delhi-bound Afghan Sikhs. He said that after landing in Delhi the refugees will go to Gurdwara Shri Guru Arjan Dev, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi.
 
Chandok said the World Punjabi Organization, Sobti Foundation, and other social organizations have made arrangements for their rehabilitation. 
 
Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan are being continuously attacked by various terrorist organizations. In the past year, there has been an increase in the number of attacks which has scared the community.
