Bhopal’s inherent sense of the history of inclusiveness is manifest in many ways: while on one hand, groups of Muslims had recently organized Bhandara (Community lunch) for Hindus celebrating Hanuman Jayanti, now the Bhopal Buddha Dham temple has sent gifts to Muslim children who have lost their parents to the Covid epidemic, for Eid.

The Buddha Dham temple also manages a “Public freeze” offering free milk to the needy for their children.

Bhante Sagar Theuro, Chief Trustee of Buddha Dham Temple Trust, says this is a small gesture for the Muslims who are fasting and worshipping Allah in the holy month of Ramzan.

He said every child has the right to feel happy as the festival of Eid approaches. By giving a gift of a new dress to the children on the eve of Ramazan who have lost their parents in the Covid pandemic, the Trust is trying to bring happiness to their lives.

“We want every child to celebrate Eid with happiness and being loved, those children should not be deprived of the joys of the festival We have a shared responsibility.“ Theuro said. He said the gifts will be delivered to children through Rashtriya Sevak Samiti led by Haji Imran and his team.

Rashtriya Sevak Samiti President Haji Mohammad Imran says that Buddha Dham Temple Trust's initiative for the orphaned Muslim boys and girls will bring joy to their lives on Eid. His organization had been distributing dresses to children from disadvantaged backgrounds for years, but the work had come to a halt in the last two years of Covid.

He said because of our track record, Bhante Sagar Theuro has given new clothes to our team for distribution among the children for the celebration of Eid. “We are grateful to them for this.”
