Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Asia Cup championship due to a right knee injury.

Axar Patel has been named as his replacement.

India is scheduled to play either Pakistan or Hong Kong on Sunday in their first Super 4 encounter.

Jadeja has played a key role in India’s two matches so far. He scored 35 runs in 29 balls against Pakistan and bowled an economic spell against Hong Kong giving away only 15 runs in his allotted four overs.

He is also the highest wicket taker for India in the history of the Asia Cup.
