New Delhi
Veteran bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Sunday handed over his cap to India's debutant fast bowler Umran Malik ahead of the team's first T20 International against Ireland.
Handing over the cap by the senior player to a debutant player is a tradition in the game like handing over the baton. It’s considered good luck and a gesture of welcoming a fresh talent to the team.
Umran Malik, who saw action from the sidelines in the home series against South Africa, will finally make his debut for India.
The BCCI posted a picture of Bhubaneswar on Twitter handing over his cap to Umran Malik.
A dream come true moment!!Congratulations to Umran Malik who is all set to make his T20I debut for #TeamIndia
