Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to lead Team India in the inaugural edition of women’s cricket in the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
India is in Group A with Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan. The league stage of the multi-sport event starts on July 29.
Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand, and South Africa are placed in Group B.
The top two teams from the respective pools will progress to the semi-finals.
Apart from Harmanpreet other members in the 15 member squad include regulars like Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Varma, Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues.
Sneh Rana, Harleen Deol and wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia who missed the recently concluded Sri Lanka limited-overs series return to the squad.
Matches will be 20 overs a side.
