CWG: Exciting action in Athletics, Hockey, Boxing and TT awaits India

After yet another action-filled day of Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham which saw India capture more medals in Weightlifting, Squash and Judo, the nation's contingent will be looking forward to progress well in sports like Athletics, Hockey, Boxing and Table Tennis on day 7 of the games on Thursday.

India kickstarts its TT campaign with a mixed doubles round of 64 match between Sanil Shetty and Reeth Tennison and Malaysia.

In athletics India resumes campaign with Sarita Romit Singh and Manju Bala taking part in the qualification round of Hammer Throw.

Later, ace sprinter Hima Das will be in action in Women's 200m heats.

Action will then shift to Lawn Bowls in the evening with Mridul Borgohain set to continue his campaign against Ross Davis of Jersey.

Mridul had registered a win against Iain McClean of Scotland in his previous match and another win will make the road to the quarter-final smoother for him.

Boxing quarterfinals get underway with Amit Panghal hoping to secure a medal with a win over Lennon Mulligan of Scotland in the quarter-final.

In Squash, after Saurav Ghoshal’s historic bronze medal in the men’s singles on Wednesday, the doubles round of 32 matches will see the Indian pair of Abhay Singh and Velavan in action.

The men’s Hockey Team will be looking forward to sealing their place in the semi-finals as group topper when they take on Wales in their last league encounter.
