Leicester
The Leicester Cricket ground has been named after legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar.
On July 23, as a recognition of his contribution to the game, his name was enshrined on the ground.
He was the highest red ball scorer of his time – the first batsman to reach the milestone of 10,000 runs in the history of the game.
The initiative for the honour was taken by Indian origin UK politician Keith Vaz who has been serving Leicester legislature for three decades.
The former Indian legend took to social media to thank his supporters and fans who have been part of his journey.
Gavaskar at one point time held the record for most Test centuries (34) in the game.
