Gautam Gambhir has high hopes on this 19-year-old. Praising Wasim, Gautam Gambhir said, "The one who used to deliver newspapers from door to door, now people will see his picture in the newspapers."

The selectors were in for a pleasant shock when Muhammad Wasim bowled at a speed of 140 kmph in the trials. They did notice his worn out rubber slippers.

One can simply guess his performance in case he wore proper shoes.

Gautam Gambhir has shared four pictures of the young cricketer on his Twitter handle. Also wrote in the comment, "Muhammad Wasim distributes newspapers. Now people will print his picture in it.

About this new player, he wrote, "It doesn't matter what your background is or what equipment you have. It doesn't matter what your class is.

He said that the tournament will provide a platform for those who could not showcase their abilities due to lack of resources.
