Polish javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk auctioned her silver medal from the Tokyo Olympics.
She sold it for $125,000 (2.86cr) to save an infant’s life
Andrejczyk saw an appeal for funds by parents of 8-month-old Miłoszek Małysa’s on Facebook.
The child required a complex surgery to fix a defect in his heart.
Maria Andrejczyk decided to raise funds for them.

She had missed 2016 Rio Olympics because of her injury.
She also missed competitions while recuperating from injury.
Maria also survived cancer in 2018
Żabka, a Polish supermarket chain, won the bid for $125,000 for her Medal.
With this money is Miloszek will undergo surgery at Stanford University Medical Center.

Zabka has since returned the medal to Andrejczyk.
