President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani today called Prof Akhtar Siddiqui, father of photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, to convey his condolence on the death of his son in Afghanistan.
According to the Afghan ambassador Farid Mamundzay, President Ghani made a phone call to Prof Akhtar Siddiqui and told him that he was deeply pained by the untimely death of a young and promising photojournalist.

It may be recalled that Danish Siddiqui was shot dead by Taliban in Kandahar on July 16. Danish was working for Reuters and was covering war between security forces and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
