New Delhi
India, President of the United Nations Security Council, has called the meeting of the UN body to discuss the situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban entered Kabul and President Ashraf Ghani abandoned his position and left the country.
India’s permanent ambassador to the UN T S Tirumurti has "convened briefings and consultation on Afghanistan" on Monday.

The meeting will be held at 10am (7 pm IST) Monday.
It may be recalled that it was Russia that had asked for convening such a meeting after the Taliban entered Kabul and Ashraf Ghani has apparently resigned and left the country.
