Indian ambassador to China will not attend the opening and the closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Olympics in protest against the PLA commander Qi Fabao, who was injured in the Galwan skirmish with the Indian Army in June 2020 being the torchbearer during the torch relay.
This was announced by Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the Ministry of defence on Thursday.
It’s regrettable that China has chosen to politicise the Olympics,” Bagchi on Thursday following reports that China has named the Galwan soldier torchbearer for the Winter Olympics 2022.
The fact that the soldier who was injured in the Galwan Valley clashes will lead the torch rally was highlighted by Global Times, mouthpiece of the Communist Regime:

India had supported Beijing Winter Olympics despite the USA and the western block’s diplomatic boycott in protest against the treatment of Uyghurs in Xinjiang province by the Chinese regime.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had supported the games and this was praised by the same Global Times.
