Islamabad’s tantrums on allowing the Indian aid of 5,000 metric tonnes of wheat and medicines continue; now it wants the wheat to be carried from the India-Pakistan border of Punjab in the trucks of Afghanistan. This was conveyed to the Afghan acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi by the Pakistani ambassador in Kabul during their meeting on Saturday.

According to TOLO News, the Pakistani ambassador met Muttaqi specifically to convey the attest decision of the Imran khan government.

Though India has no diplomatic relations with Afghanistan, New Delhi has decided to send food and medicine aid on a humanitarian basis to the Taliban ruler Afghanistan.

Pakistan is the sole reason for the delay in this aid reaching Afghanistan where 80 percent of the population is affected by severe drought for the third consecutive year.

Earlier the Imran Khan government had conveyed to India that it would not allow the Indian trucks to carry the wheat consignment to Afghanistan and instead Pakistani trucks could be deployed.

This was not acceptable to India that had sought unfettered access to Afghanistan for humanitarian aid.
