A mob has once again attacked a temple in Pakistan -this time in the country’s financial capital of Karachi – and vandalized the statue of Goddess Durga. Extremists have also vandalized the temple. This is the ninth attack on Hindu temples in the last 22 months during the tule of Imran Khan. Karachi is home to a large number of Hindus. The Pakistani media has identified the temple as the Narianpura Hindu temple in Karachi.

While one idol of the Goddess has been broken, the other one has been badly damaged.

The attack comes amidst the Supreme Court constantly issuing notices and the Imran Khan government is claiming that it is protecting temples. However, Imran Khan's claim is proving hollow and fundamentalists are constantly attacking Hindu temples across.
Voice of Pakistani minorities has posted these images of the Yog Mata mandir's vandalism on Twitter and said:
Absolutely outrageous, How can some people be so intolerant towards others' faith?? Yog Mata Mandir has been attacked and vandalized yesterday by religious extremists.

Earlier, Imran Khan had promised to build a temple in Islamabad and it has never happened owing to the opposition from fundamentalists.

Imran Khan tweeted that he strongly condemned the attack on the Ganesh Temple in Rahim Yar Khan's Bhong. I have already asked IG Punjab to ensure the arrest of all the accused and take action against any negligence of the police.

The government will also renovate the temple. The Supreme Court of Pakistan had directed the Chief Secretary Punjab and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to appear in the case within 24 hours.
