Kashmir' Safia paints her world in colours

Safia's brush fills the world around her in colours: be it canvas, paper or earthenware. Her colours infuse life in all inanimate things; the canvas seems to come alive and earthenware blossoms when her brush.

Safia is a freelance artist from Srinagar, Kashmir. She says, "I have mastered psychology, but painting is my passion. I have learned to make paintings by myself and never did any course for it. ”

Apparently, the art of Safiya is like a gift of nature for her and she has made it her profession. She says, "I have made art a profession." I do murals as well. "

Safia not only receives wall art orders from cities outside the state. She says with a smile, "I have now started Calligraphy and Papier-mâché too. Apart from this, I also do abstracts, conceptual work, and illustrations. ”

The walls of her house in Srinagar all painted all over. Interestingly most of her artwork on walls depicts women coming out of chains. Now her ambition is growing. She says, "My goal is to have an art gallery where I can showcase my work and people come from every corner of the world to see my work. "

Can the field of art be viewed as full-time employment? To this question she says, “There is so much work in Kashmir. This is a work that gives you and your soul satisfaction. "

She says that there can be employment opportunities in the field of art. Her work is beginning to take shape as a small-scale business. She believes that "if people take initiative there are a lot of employment opportunities in the field of art in Kashmir."

She considers inner satisfaction as the most important remuneration for her artwork. She says, "This work makes us feel we are doing something for ourselves. I don't think there is anything bigger and more satisfying than this."

While colouring her terracotta pots, Safia says, "If you think you can move forward in a particular field because you are passionate about it then you shouldn’t give it up for studies." You should concentrate on the things that make your soul happy too. There is nothing greater than a happy person in the world. "

The youth section who are happy in the Valley of Kashmir is also happy for the whole country.
