Mountaineer Ali Ahmed needs sponsors for climbing Everest

The insurmountable peaks of the lofty mountains seem small in the face of Muhammad Ali Ahmed's determination to scale them.

 

He has already scaled many difficult peaks including the highest one in Ladakh and Australia.

Like all mountaineers, Muhammad Ali Ahmed’s dream is to climb Mount Everest, and this time he needs sponsors and money to make it happen.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed from Amdapur, a small village in Budhan Mandal, Nizamabad district of Telangana, is a man of steely determination. The adverse circumstances of his life that he was thrown into since his childhood have hardly changed.

 

Despite limited resources, Muhammad Ali Ahmed has not only had achieved remarkable feats but has also got his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed was only four years old when his father Muhammad Abrar Ahmed passed away. Abrar Ahmed ran a small grocery store to support his large family comprising his five children and a wife.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed's elder brother helped his mother meet the household expenses through his catering business; he also guided Ali Ahmed in his education.

 

Another brother is a Hafiz (memorizer of Qur'an). Mohammad Ali Ahmed has seen poverty and hardship since childhood and is therefore keen to be able to help his family change the circumstances.

 

He also feels responsible for looking after his sister who recently lost her husband and has to raise three children.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed is a Black Belt in Stick Martial Arts and has won medals in various competitions. He is also an athlete and has won many medals in sprints. However, he always loved climbing trees and mountains.

He could easily climb trees and mountains in his native village. Seeing his interest, his teachers enrolled him in Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nizamabad. Ali Ahmed didn’t look back; besides Hyderabad, he received training in rock climbing and mountaineering in Delhi and other places.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed has scaled many a difficult peak so far and is a name to reckon with in mountaineering in India and especially his State of Telangana. Ali Ahmed led an expedition to Stock Kangri Peak in 2015. This peak is situated at an altitude of 21,150 feet. It is one of the highest peaks in the Himalayas.

 

Ali Ahmed along with his companions completed this campaign in 15 days. Ali Ahmed hoisted the national tricolor and the flag of Telangana on the highest peak on the occasion of Telangana Foundation Day on June 2 and set a record.

 

Muhammad Ali Ahmed participated in the 2018 World Mountaineering Championships and visited Australia. He climbed Mount Kosciuszko and the ten highest peaks in Australia. He climbed a dangerous hill 222 meters high without any support.

Apart from mountaineering, Ali Ahmed has also does waterfall rappelling. He has made history by taking part in rippling competitions even while blindfolded. Apart from Asifabad, he has won medals while participating in waterfall rappelling competitions at other places.

 

In addition, Ali Ahmed has jumped from an altitude of 12,000 meters from the helicopter at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation Delhi.

 

Ali Ahmed told Awaz-the-Voice that he wanted to climb Everest, the highest peak in the Himalayas and the lack of resources is coming in the way of realizing his dream.

 

Ali Ahmed said he requires Rs 4 million for arranging helicopters, oxygen cylinders, and other items to climb the summit of Everest.

 

Besides pursuing mountaineering Ali Ahmed is also a final year student at a degree college.

 

Ali Ahmed said that his economic situation is not good and yet he is determined to do something for the country. However, he is facing financial difficulties for his Everest expedition due to a lack of money and sponsors. Ali Ahmed said that as a sportsman he has not received any benefit.

 

He has not even got a government job under the sports quota. Ali Ahmed has sought the help of wealthy and powerful people to support him in fulfilling his long-cherished dream of climbing Everest.
