The foundation stone of AIIMS Jammu was laid by Prime Minister Modi in February 2019.

AIIMS Jammu located at Samba has been set up with an investment of Rs 1,660 crore on 227 acres. The hospital offers the state-of-the-art facilities, including 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, and a nursing college with 60 seats.

It has an AYUSH block with 30 beds, residential quarters for faculty and staff, student hostels, an auditorium and a shopping complex.

As of January 2024, there are 20 operational AIIMS institutes across India. Additionally, four more AIIMS are expected to become operational by 2025.

These health projects which were built at the cost of Rs 11,391.79 crore

These are expected to bring in major transformations in India’s healthcare and medical education.
