The tulip garden in Asia spread over an area of about 30 hectares

The place is post-card pretty, located between the Dal Lake and the majestic Zabarwan mountain range

The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim to boost floriculture and tourism in Kashmir Valley. The garden is built on a sloping ground in a terraced fashion consisting of seven terraces.

The garden also showcases a vast variety of flowers apart from tulips. These include daffodils, roses, muscaria, iris, hyacinths, and ranunculi.

It is organized during the onset of spring season in the Kashmir valley.

Tulip, has its origin in Persia (Iran), it was introduced in Europe in 17th century, where it had been developed in different varieties.
