The world's largest cricket stadium is named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the newly built stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present on the occasion. This stadium, known as 'Motera', was till now known as 'Sardar Patel Stadium'. The stadium witnessed the 'Namaste Trump' program in February last year. US President Donald Trump visited India then.
This stadium will be a part of 'Sardar Patel Sports Enclave'. Apart from 'Narendra Modi Stadium', this enclave will also have a stadium for field hockey and tennis. Apart from this, there will also be arrangements for a variety of indoor and outdoor sports.
