The National School of Drama (NSD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is set to host the monumental Jan Bharat Rang initiative on February 21. 2024

This ambitious project aims to bring together 2000 Performing Arts Groups across the Nation, simultaneously performing a common script

Today, a press conference was held, where NSD Director Sh. Chittaranjan Tripathy and NSD Registrar Sh. Pradeep K. Mohanty shared insights about this historic event. The event, organized as part of Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2024, is designed to create a significant milestone in the global theatre landscape

All participating groups will work on the same script, each contributing their unique regional representation to showcase the cultural diversity of India

The performances are themed around Viksit Bharot (Developed India), PanchPran (Five Pledges), and Vasudhaiva Kutumbukam (The World is One Family), reflecting India's vision for inclusive progress and global harmony Jan Bharat Rang aspires to mark the largest ever collective live performance by a theatre institution worldwide The scheduled date for this extraordinary event is February 21, 2024, coinciding with the Closing Ceremony of Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2024 Upon confirmation from participating groups, the organizers will provide a reference script for the performances, each lasting between 15 to 20 minutes The success of Jan Bharat Rang will not only position India as a global leader in the performing arts but also celebrate the unity and artistic excellence of its diverse theatre community

On the 21st of February, a grand finale awaits as Bharat Rang Mahotsav concludes its remarkable journey,extending its enchanting embrace across 15 cities for the very first time in 2024 This year a multitude of enthusiasts, numbering in the lakhs, engaged in an immersive exploration of the world of theatre through both online and offline avenues, indulging in the marvels of captivating productions from both India and beyond Jan Bharat Rang intends to open up the opportunity for performing arts enthusiasts to participate in the iconic 25 year of Bharat Rang Mahotsav, and in the making of Indian Theatre history.
