Zoha Haider, the 16-year-old resident of Bhagalpur, has topped the ICSE examination for the tenth standard in Bihar by securing  99.6% marks.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination is conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, affiliated with the CBSE. It also conducts examinations for and 12th standard for schools unattached to CBSE.

Zoha Haider is a student of St Joseph's School, Bhagalpur. She has scored 100 marks each in History, Geography, Civics, Mathematics and Computer Application, 99-99 in Hindi and English and 96 in Science.

Zoha was always a hard-working student. Her family said nothing distracted her from her books. Power cuts had no impact on her schedule as she worked under candlelight or a lamp

Zoha's dream is to become a successful doctor and she has started preparing for it. Her career choice is because of her exposure to peoples’ pain and sufferings of sick people in her town, who had to travel to big cities for treatment.

Even during the waves of Covid, people faced problems due to poor healthcare infrastructure in her town.
