Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offered prayers at the famed Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Hyderabad and said he prayed for the well-being of the people of the country.

Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Temple which is 191 years old. Situated in the Secunderabad area in Telangana, Devotees offer prayers to the goddess every day. In particular, Lakhs of devotees offer prayers during Ashada Jathara, which usually falls on Sunday and Monday.

"Prayed for the good health, well-beingand prosperity of all Indians at the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Devasthanam, Secunderabad," the PM said on 'X,' and shared pictures of his visit to the temple.

As per Hindu beliefs, Goddess Mahakali is the supreme source of power who embodies the power of women on this earth. She is the reincarnated version of Maha Shakti Durga.

It is believed that in the year 1813, Cholera broke out in the form of epidemic in the city and thousands of people died due to it. At the same time a batch of military battalion transferred to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. From Secunderabad.

A Doli bearer named as Suriti Appaiah along with his associates went to the Mahakali Devastanam at Ujjain and prayed for the benefit of people.

He made a promise at the divine place that if the people saved from the epidemic, he would install an idol of the goddess.

AS soon as they returned from Ujjain, Appaiah and his associates installed the idol made of wood in Secunderabad in July 1814.

This temple is the symbol of  human faith and unlimited respect on the divine power and at the same time the kindness that divinity showers on us.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was highly  pleased after visiting the century old temple of the divine mother. For him it  was an amzing momnent when he was presented with a photo frame of the Goddess by the temple priests.
