Shankracharya Jayanti was celebrated on Saturday at Srinagar’s Shankracharya temple with religious fervour and gaiety.

Thousands of devotees from various parts of the country took part in a grand celebration at the temple overlooking the Dal Lake.

He was born in Kerala over 1300 years ago. The Adi Guru travelled thousands of kilometres from Kerala to Kashmir to do meditate at Shankaracharya hill Srinagar and spread the message of peace to humanity.
