Prominient members of the Muslim civil society have welcomed the remarks of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat about unity of Hindus and Muslims.
Taking to Twitter Haji Syed Salman Chishty, the Gaddinashin (heir apparent) of Dargah Ajmer Sharif, welcomed the discourse on peace and unity among followers of different faith.

Major Mohommed Ali Shah, known for being vocal on issues concerning the community said:
"I personally think Mr. Mohan Bhagwat has correctly said that dialogue is the only way for progress and peace and not discord. He also sent out a loud and clear message on lynching - Irrespective of who and whichever community. Hopefully that message should go across in society. All communities have to co - exist in the country afterall. Jai Hind."
Former Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi said "Mr Bhagwat's statement is extremely timely and most welcomed, and he has made some precise remarks, the actions now lie with the cadre, who need to follow his advise, this could be a game-changer, he needs to make sure that it is followed on the ground, his words will have no meaning if they aren't followed on the ground, thus they need to be followed in letter and spirit by his cadre."
