From global leaders extending warm greetings to his home state of Gujarat hosting grand festivities, the day reflected Modi’s stature as both a national icon and an international statesman.
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay led the chorus of global greetings, extending heartfelt wishes on behalf of the people of Bhutan. “On this happy occasion, we pray for your good health, happiness, and long life,” Tobgay said in his message.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, recalling his visit to India earlier this year, shared a video message. “Kia ora, namaskar, my good friend Prime Minister Modi. Congratulations on your 75th birthday. A milestone like this is a moment to reflect on the wisdom of your leadership as you guide India toward becoming a developed country by 2047,” Luxon said, while expressing eagerness to host Modi in New Zealand.

From Washington, US President Donald Trump called Modi to convey his greetings and lauded India’s role in efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “He is doing a tremendous job,” Trump wrote on his social platform, Truth Social. Modi responded by thanking Trump for his call, stressing India’s commitment to strengthening the India-US global partnership and supporting peaceful resolutions to global conflicts.
Russia too joined in, with Ambassador Denis Alipov praising Modi’s role in taking the “decades-old friendship between Russia and India to new heights.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recounted his first meeting with Modi in Jhansi, calling it his earliest glimpse of “the brilliance of future leadership.” He remembered Modi’s discipline, noting how he reported back with a “report card” after completing party assignments during Singh’s tenure as BJP president.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recalled meeting Modi during the Ekta Yatra of the 1990s, when party workers braved threats to hoist the national flag at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk. “It was at this time that I observed his personality closely,” Chouhan said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed Modi as a “symbol of sacrifice and dedication” who has been tirelessly serving the nation for more than five decades. “Modi ji is a living inspiration of ‘Nation First’ for every citizen,” Shah wrote.

President Droupadi Murmu joined the tributes, saying Modi had “instilled a culture of achieving great goals” through his extraordinary leadership. Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia, Piyush Goyal, Bhupender Yadav, and several state leaders also lauded Modi’s vision for inclusive development.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant credited Modi with transforming infrastructure and human resource development, while Piyush Goyal praised reforms like GST that “made the life of every citizen easier.”
Back home in Gujarat, the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday was celebrated with fervor. In Maninagar, Garba performances and a floral map of India marked with the word “Namotsav” set the tone. “On the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday, everyone is performing one or the other act of service,” said Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, announcing that nearly five lakh people would donate blood.
From temples to gurdwaras, prayers were offered for Modi’s long life. In Delhi, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa performed an Akhand Path Sahib Bhog at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. In Mumbai, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and his wife Lakshmi Puri organized an Ardas and Langar at Gurudwara Dashmesh Darbar.
Later in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with BJP leaders, participated in a Seva Sankalp Walk at India Gate, reinforcing the day’s theme of service.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a 15-day nationwide campaign, Seva Pakhwada, to commemorate the milestone. Beginning on Modi’s birthday and concluding on Gandhi Jayanti, the campaign includes blood donation drives, cleanliness programs, exhibitions, and social service events aimed at showcasing the government’s achievements and emphasizing public welfare.
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav said the initiative reflects Modi’s lifelong commitment to seva (service), while leaders across states echoed that sentiment.
Adding to the celebrations, the National Award-winning film Chalo Jeete Hain, inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of living for others, is being re-released across India to mark the occasion.
As Modi entered his 75th year, tributes underscored not only his political leadership but also the cultural and emotional connect he shares with millions. From prayers at gurdwaras and garba in Gujarat to phone calls from world leaders, the day served as a reminder of his evolving role as both a leader of India and a figure of influence on the global stage.
