Muslim leaders appeal for peaceful Eid celebrations

New DerlhiAs Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid ul-Fitr to mark the culmination of the month-long fasting with family, friends, prayer, and in feasting, Indians are greeting each other irrespective of the religion as the festivities have returned after two years of Covid-induced lockdown and low key celebrations.

While greeting Muslims and all the Indians on the occasion, eminent Islamic scholars and intellectuals, and Muslim organizations have appealed to the Muslims to work for maintaining peace and brotherhood in the country. Most of them have asked people to keep their emotions under control while making efforts to win the hearts of fellow countrymen.
 
Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary, Muslim Personal Law Board, has appealed to Muslim organizations, important personalities of the nation, and the youth to remain steadfast on religion and Shariah. He asked them to try to enforce the law of marriage and divorce, purdah, inheritance law, the right of children, and other rules of social life which have been imposed on Muslims by Allah.

His assertion and appeal come amidst the possibility of the government bringing in a Uniform Civil Code in the country
 
Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami of India Syed Saadatullah Hussaini said, “I heartily congratulate all Muslims and all the brothers and sisters living in the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.”
 
He reminded the youth that while they must pray quietly and in joy, there should mindfully adhere to not raising slogans on the day. He said “mosques and dargah are not meant for sloganeering,” he said.
 
From Bareilly Sharif, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan said that in the present times some miscreants are trying to create an environment of hate in the country and the Muslims need to be wary of such elements and the public must report any suspicious person or activity to the administration immediately.
 
He said Muslims all over the world are going through trials and tribulations in maintaining their faith. He asked Muslims to follow Islam in the face of all adversities for they have inherited the tradition of the Prophets and the standard of the Prophet of Islam.

The All India Milli Council has issued an appeal on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr urging all people to celebrate the festival with communal harmony.
 
The appeal says that it is indeed a very holy and glorious festival for Muslims and is celebrated with extraordinary sanctity, but sometimes anti-social elements try to vitiate the environment.
 
Therefore, a system should be set up to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with utmost care and vigilance.
 
Amid efforts to undermine the current political, social, cultural, and sectarian unity of the country, we have an even greater need to play our effective role as charities.
 
Let us pledge that we will celebrate this great festival of our great joy with full communal goodwill and take all the just brothers of our homeland in their respective areas, settlements, and cities in confidence and also in the joys of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The All India Imams Council congratulates all the Indians and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. It asked the Muslims to take a pledge on these lines: "We will live in mutual gratitude, share each other's sorrows and pains and move the country forward on the path of development."
 
"We will work with people of all faiths for the protection and survival of the country's secular system and democratic values ​​and will not allow anyone to undermine it. He said that on this occasion, Muslims are reminded of their social responsibility through Sadaqah-e-Fitr, which is the responsibility of all the poor and weaker sections of the society. It is the duty of a Muslim to try to put a smile on every face. Be May the sorrow and anxiety of everyone be removed and may all the servants of God have peace and order, justice and justice and happiness and contentment. This is the philosophy of Eid. From Bihar heads of social and religious institutions have issued a joint appeal to work towards putting an end to hatred and enmity. Among the signatories of this joint statement are Maulana Ahmad Faisal Wali Rahmani, Ameer Shariat, Bihar. Maulana Abbas Qasmi, Maulana Rizwan Ahmad Islahi, Maulana Khurshid Madani and Maulana Muhammad Nazim.
 
It asked the Muslims not to raise slogans, or cause harm to any human being through word or actions and never offer prayers on the streets. The leaders warned the public against machinations of some mischievous elements (regardless of caste) and said they would try to to disrupt the peace and order, not encourage such people at all and may not be misled by them. ۔ Do not allow any conspiracy of miscreants to succeed and do not take the law into your own hands.

From Jammu and Kashmir, where Eid is being celebrated in a major way, J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi says the administration has tried to offer Eid prayers at the historic Jama Masjid in Nohta, Srinagar, but some people have rejected the idea.
