Taslim Ahmed Rehmani, Founder President of the Muslim Political Council of India, has said that Hindus and Muslims should remain united and vigilant in defeating the nefarious designs of divisive forces.

Mr Rehmani, who quit the controversial television discussion where anti Prophet remarks were made by Nupur Sharma, then a BJP National Spokesperson, said, “ I  condemn the killing of the tailor in Udaipur. This ghastly murder cannot be accepted in civilized society. I personally feel that some forces are trying to create friction between Hindus and Muslims in our country. I condemn the beheading incident in Udaipur. The Islam clearly says that nobody should take the law into their own hands. People should learn the value of tolerance from the life of the Prophet. The Holy Qur’an clearly says that the life of the Prophet should be a role model for everybody till as long as humanity exists.’’

Rehmani said that he quit the discussion to protest “ out of context anti-Prophet” remarks made by Nupur Sharma. “ I objected and categorically said that I did not want to engage with her.’’

A physician, Rehmani who set up the Muslim Political Council of India 22 years ago,  said, “Despite blasphemy, Islam does not allow beheading. ‘’

He drew attention to the way the Prophet endured severe physical attacks even when people threw stones when he was visiting Taif, a city near Mecca, to seek patronage.
