National anthem singing made compulsory in UP Madrasas

Uttar Pradesh Board for Madrasa education has made it compulsory for the Madrasa students to sing the national anthem before starting the classes, daily. It has also made it mandatory for the teachers to clear the Madrasa Entrance Test for Teachers, on the lines of the National test, for getting the job.
 
The decisions were taken in the meeting of the madrasa board for improving the quality of education in the State.
 
In the meeting, it was also decided to survey to which institutions the teachers and employees had enrolled their children for studies.
 
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed Javed. It also took other important decisions about improving the standard of education in Madrasas. To address the allegations of favoritism and nepotism in the appointment of teachers in madrasas, the decision to hold an eligibility test was taken. Javed said the registrar of the board would soon send a proposal to the government. He said that singing the national anthem along with other prayers was made mandatory in the recognized, aided and non-aided madrasas of the state before the start of classes from the new academic session.

Board members Qamar Ali, Tanveer Rizvi, Dr. Imran Ahmed, Asad Hussain, Accounts Officer in the Directorate of Minorities Welfare Ashish Anand, Registrar of the Board SN Pandey were present in the meeting.
 
Iftikhar Javed said the board will also check the ratio of teachers and students because of the falling numbers of students in the Madrasas. It has also been decided to implement a biometric attendance system in madrasas.
 
Madrasa board examinations will be held from May 14. The chairman told that the examinations of the Madrasa Board would be conducted from May 14 to May 27. On the lines of the Basic Education Council, in the curriculum of classes one to eight, in addition to the subjects of Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science questions. Papers will be included in the exam.
