Netanyahu imposes faith in India on blast probe

Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Nethanyhu has expressed his confidence in the Indian government’s investigations into the blast outside the Israeli embassy in Delhi on Friday.

Ofir Gendelman, the spokesperson of Israeli Prime Minister for Arab media, has tweeted: PM Netamyahu asked to inform India’s PM@narendramodi that Israel has full confidence in the Indian authorities’ investigations and its ability to ensure the safety of the Israelis and Jews in India.”

Netanyahu’s office also said India’s National security Advisor Ajit Doval spoke with his counterpart Meir Ben-Shabbat and told him about the efforts being made by India to investigate the explosion.

Israel’s ambassador to India Dr Ron Malka had said on Twitter: “we are working with Indian authorities to find the perpetrators and the motive behind the attack.”

Israeli New Delhi: An explosion occurred near the Israel Embassy in the national capital on Friday. Nobody was reported injured in the blast.

Police said that the explosion took place at the roadside of 5 Aurangzeb Road in the heart of the city. Fire brigade, SWAT and forensic teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident that took place at around 5 pm.

The Special cell of Delhi Police has launched investigation into the blast. Forensic teams are looks for clues at the blast site.

The National investigation Agency(NIA) is likely to take over the probe, sources said.

"We are looking into the matter. Multiple police teams have been rushed to the spot. It is yet to be ascertained the kind of material that exploded," said a senior police officer. As per fire department information, they received the call at 5.11 pm, and three fire tenders were pressed into service. The window panes of a vehicle parked nearby were damaged.
