'Pasmanda Muslims must make use of schemes for education'

The Pasamanda Musalman Political and Welfare Awareness Council of India, an association of Dalit Muslims, has asked Muslims to take advantage of government schemes for improving their living conditions and a better future for their children.

The first-ever convention of this Dalit Muslims group resolved that the lack of awareness about the plethora of schemes launched by the governments for their welfare is the reason the backward classes are unable to take advantage of these.

At the convention of the Pasmanda Musalman Political and Welfare Awareness Council of India, held in Delhi recently, speakers from all over India resolved to remove the backwardness of Muslims and launch a major campaign from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to bring all marginalized Muslims under one umbrella and creating awareness for removing their backwardness.

It resolved: “Creating awareness among Muslims by using various resources and schemes meant specifically for the benefit of marginalized communities will go a long way in removing the educational, social, and economic backwardness of Muslims.”

The speakers at the convention said that sincere efforts are required for ending the backwardness of Muslims and to ensure that they are not exploited.

Prominent religious leaders, intellectuals, and social workers gathered and spoke at the convention held to discuss the problems concerning marginalized sections of Indian Muslims

President of the organization Syed Fayyazuddin, who hails from Hyderabad, said the Council has decided to establish offices in 18 states so that the backward Muslims can form support groups and communicate with each other and with those living in other States.

Syed Fayyazuddin said the organization will work on increasing patriotism among backward Muslims and promoting social harmony in the country.

He asked Muslims not to heed the rumours and false slogans.

He said that the Backward Muslim Political and Welfare Awareness Council of India will work sincerely for the welfare of the nation and nation. It will work in various ways for the welfare and political consciousness of backward Muslims.

He further people of other religions and sects who want to work for removing the backwardness of Muslims are welcome to the organization.

He claimed that it would be the only organization in India that would bring all communities together. “Our only aim is to remove the backwardness of Muslims and bring them into the national mainstream. Branches of the organization will be opened in every state and Imams of mosques, mosque committees, madrasas, monasteries, and other religious institutions will be contacted and asked for advice,” he said.

He said that this organization will provide support in free legal services in all the States for the welfare of Muslims, ensuring the education of disadvantaged students, providing higher education and employment opportunities in the public and private sectors, and free medical camps.

General Secretary of the organization MA Sattar said that Muslims will be urged not to cast their vote based on party or religion but only to further the development agenda of the country.
